A little family tree info for you...if the dads are brothers(which they are indeed) that makes Brock a nephew...not a cousin. Maybe here in Oklahoma that may stand true but probably not so in Oregon, out there they let their family tree spread out, not go staight up.

From the OCA website: Large West 36, Large East 18 TULSA – Two of the Large East standouts were “no shows” Tuesday night, and that proved extremely costly as the Large West thundered away to a 33-0 lead and held on for a 36-18 victory in the Oklahoma Coaches As.sociation All-State wrestling match before a near-capacity crowd at Union High School. East Central’s Jeremy Goree and Znick Ferrell of Sand Springs – with five state gold medals between them – were not in the lineup, and the replacements for each lost in a dual which was not quite as lopsided as it seemed. Six of the individual matches were decided by three points or less. Each team had two pins, while the West got the lone technical fall in the opening bout when 112-pounder Kidd Gomez of Noble staged another of his takedown exhibitions in a 19-4 win over Robert Turrentine of Bishop Kelley. Landon Christly of Moore – a late replacement in the Large West lineup – pinned Monty Howell of Coweta at 130 and Casy Rowell of Duncan won by fall over Nick Wilson of Jenks – who had replaced Goree at 135. Mike Vieira of Muskogee put the first points on the scoreboard for the Large East when he used a reverse cradle to pin Cade Draper of Deer Creek with just 21 seconds left after building a 9-2 lead in their 160-pound match. Union’s three-time state king Joey Sheridan followed that with a quick fall (52 seconds) over Casey Edgmon of Deer Creek at 171 pounds. Ponca City’s Blake Rosholt kept the streak alive with a 4-0 decision over Carl Albert state champ Zac Aylor at 189, then Dalton Salisbury of Collinsville won one of the best matches of the night when he finished a double leg lift for a takedown with a dozen ticks remaining to edge embattled Beau Gastineau of Westmoore, 7-5, at 215. But the Large West won the finale at 275 in another tight fit as Mike Reed of Ardmore got the winning takedown with just :02 on the clock in a 3-2 decision. Tyler Dorrell of Del City followed the Gomez tech fall with an overtime win against Broken Arrow’s Derek Steeley in one of the few battles of state champions. Dorrell had taken the 119 gold in 6A and Steeley prevailed at 125. The two exchanged near misses through most of the match, then the Eagle broke the ice with a reverse at :51 of the second. Trailing 2-0, Steeley squirmed around for a reverse of his own with :24 left, then just averted a reverse by Dorrell at the buzzer. In overtime, Dorrell countered a move by the Tiger to get the winner with :33 left. Cody Beisel of Union, who lost a 1-0 decision to Steeley in the state finals, couldn’t quite catch up to El Reno’s Austin Mogg at 125, losing 8-5. Then Christly with a reverse stack only one second from the end of the second period padded the West lead to 17-0 and Rowell used a bar arm and body press to get the pin over Wilson that made it 23-0. Kevin Harris of Del City had three takedowns to edge Trae Treleaven of Union, 6-4, at 140, to set the stage for another of the top thrillers on the night. Muskogee’s Josh Stewart and Caleb Randall of Westmoore had only one point between them until Randall snaked an ankle on the edge of the mat for a 2-1 lead with just :19 left. In a wild, rolling flurry, Stewart reversed with :02 on the clock, but not until Randall had been given two back points to earn a 4-3 victory. Cade Draper of Deer Creek upped the lead to 33-0 with a 9-0 major decision at 152 over Kyle Marks of Sand Springs. After the East won its four straight, Mike Reed of Ardmore finished the night with a 3-2 decision over Clint Smith of Ponca City, who was filling in for Sand Springs two-time champ Znick Ferrell. Matches 112 – Kidd Gomez (Noble), LW won by tech fall over Robert Turrentine (Bishop Kelley), 19-4 119 – Tylor Dorrell (Del City), LW dec Derek Steeley (Broken Arrow), 2-2, 2-0 125 – Austin Mogg (El Reno), LW dec Cody Beisel (Union), 8-5 130 – Landon Christly (Moore), LW pinned Monty Howell (Coweta), 3:29 135 – Casy Rowell (Duncan), LW pinned Nick Wilson (Jenks), 1:18 140 – Kevin Harris (Del City), LW dec Trae Treleaven (Union), 6-4 145 –Caleb Randall (Westmoore), LW dec Josh Stewart (Muskogee), 4-3 152 – Cade Draper (Deer Creek), LW maj dec Kyle Marks (Sand Springs), 9-0 160 – Mike Vieira (Muskogee), LE pinned Kendall Melvin (Western Heights), 3:09 171 – Joey Sheridan (Union), LE pinned Casey Edgmon (Deer Creek), :52 189 – Blake Rosholt (Ponca City), LE dec Zac Aylor (Carl Albert), 4-0 215 – Dalton Salisbury (Collinsville), LE dec Beau Gastineau (Westmoore), 7-5 275 – Mike Reed (Ardmore), LW dec Clint Smith (Ponca City), 3-2

All State 3a-4a
Wrestling Small East 51, Small West 12 TULSA – Both of the four-time state champions in the Small East lineup won Tuesday night, but they did so by extremely different outcomes in leading their team to a 51-12 rout of the Small West before a near-capacity crowd at Union High School. Zach White (Woodward) pinning Ethan Simpson (Cushing). Two of the state’s other 2009 four-timers did not compete in the match. Stillwater’s Chris Perry was never in the lineup, and Perry’s Ladd Rupp gave way to Allen Lee of Webbers Falls when the Maroon took part in a national tournament. Lee wound up taking a forfeit at 125 pounds for the Small East. Catoosa’s Dallas Bailey – one of the four-timers after taking a thriller from Woodward’s Zach White in the Cla.ss 4A state finals – had all he could handle against Marlow’s Tanner Keck, himself a state champ. The two were even at 1-1 when Bailey exploded for a duck under and barely got the takedown call on the edge of the mat with :10 left. Keck appealed the call, but Bailey left with a 3-1 win. Cushing’s Jarrod Patterson hit a double leg takedown just 12 seconds into his 125 pairing with Kevn Davis of Marlow and built a 10-2 lead before ending it with :40 left in the middle period on a reverse body press. That gave his mates a 21-3 lead after a pin in the opening match by Berryhill’s Kodee Varnell, the forfeit and an unusual tie at 119 when David Frix of Fort Gibson and Chad Kochenower of Kingfisher were still scoreless after regulation and one overtime period. Each team was awarded three points. The Small West won only two more bouts, one by Bobby Williams of Tuttle at 152 pounds on a 9-4 decision over Catoosa’s Ryan Rosales and the other an impressive pin by White of Woodward, who had a 10-2 lead when he put a standing half on Ethan Simpson of Cushing and took him down to his back to end it with 1:12 left in the second. White, Bailey, Rupp and Perry’s Stephen Swan are all part of one of the nation’s top recruiting cla.sses at Oklahoma State. In addition to the falls by Varnell and Patterson, the Small East got pins from Jerad Schroeder of Bristow at 135, Clayton Sanders of Bristow at 140 and Dylan Haynes of Berryhill at 145. Swan won handily at 160, getting four takedowns in an 8-3 decision over Brayden Hicks of Kingfisher. The other two wins for the Small East came in the final two matches as Clint Sloan of Pawnee used a takedown on his toes at the edge of the mat with :37 remaining to nip Bryce Rusler of Blanchard, 3-1, the Blackwell state champ Joey George wiped out a 3-2 deficit with a takedown just :15 from the finish to beat Reece Rizzo of Piedmont, 4-3, at 275. Matches 112 – Kodee Varnell (Berryhill), SE pinned Luke Provenzano (Kingfisher), 2:58 119 – David Frix (Fort Gibson), SE drew Chad Kochenhower (Kingfisher), 0-0, 0-0 125 – Allen Lee (Webbers Falls), SE won by forfeit 130 – Jarrod Patterson (Cushing), SE pinned Kevin Davis (Marlow), 2:50 135 – Jerad Schroeder (Bristow), SE pinned Zac Swartz (Sulphur), 4:49 140 – Clayton Sanders (Bristow), SE pinned Lau’renta’ta Walker (Anadarko), 2:52 145 – Dylan Haynes (Berryhill), SE pinned Miguel Salcido (Clinton), 1:40 152 – Bobby Williams (Tuttle), SW dec Ryan Rosales (Catoosa), 9-4 160 – Stephen Swan (Perry), SE dec Brayden Hicks (Kingfisher), 8-3 171 – Dallas Bailey (Catoosa), SE dec Tanner Keck (Marlow), 3-1 189 – Zach White (Woodward), SW pinned Ethan Simpson (Cushing), 4:18 215 – Clint Sloan (Pawnee), SE dec Bryce Rusler (Blanchard), 3-1 275 – Joey George (Blackwell), SE dec Reece Rizzo (Piedmont), 4-3

I am also related to Brock Gutches, on the other side of the family. Just to let you know Brock Gutches is Les Gutches cousin. His dads brother is also Les Gutches. Brock and Les were born in February and born in Rogue Valley Hospital. Brock was only 10 months old when Les Gutches won his 3rd State Title in Oregan. So this must mean that maybe your family tree may need a little tweeking NOT MINE OR THEIRS. If you need to know more I can let you know.

Man dies after falling off scaffolding By MATT BARNARD World Staff Writer Published: 7/29/2009 2:47 PM La$t Modified: 7/29/2009 6:48 PM A drywall worker who fell several feet from a scaffolding rig died Wednesday afternoon despite medics’ repeated attempts to revive him, authorities said. Mike Thom@s, 41, w@s working atop the 6-foot-tall platform at a Lexus dealership that is under construction when he fell to the ground about 1:15 p.m., Fire Department spokesman Bill French said. When emergency crews arrived at the work zone at 4220 S. Memorial Drive, Thom@s had no pulse, and other construction workers had connected an electronic defibrillator, French said. Medics revived Thom@s several times but couldn’t establish a steady heartbeat. He w@s pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital, French said. It w@s not immediately clear why Thom@s fell from the scaffold, but authorities said he might have suffered a seizure or heart attack before he fell. Don Thornton, the owner of Lexus of Tulsa, said Thom@s w@s hanging drywall on an interior section of the building, which will house expanded facilities for the dealership. The construction company stopped work after the accident and will offer counseling for employees who worked with Thom@s, Thornton said.

Definate accomplishment for Chris Perry. Very happy that he represents our state, but goes to show that we are still behind in fs and gr. Might have been his first world level competition but he was wrestling other kids the same age. USA is still behind as Perry was the best that we had to offer and he lost to two medalists but still no medal. That is not a knock on him at all, I would like to see more than one medal at an Olympic games and hope some of the "new blood" on the world stage performs well for us this year.
